The stellar Australian dining scene is once again in the forefront of our minds with the reveal of the finalists for the Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Awards 2020.
Taking spots in prime categories are four South Australian businesses who have pushed boundaries and showcased themselves as the best of their field.
A finalist in two categories, The Summertown Aristologist in the Adelaide Hills has been nominated in both the Wine List of the Year award and the newly introduced Sustainability and Innovation award.
Daniel Murphy, Appellation head chef in the Barossa Valley has been pinpointed as a finalist for the Best New Talent award.
Another finalist for the Innovation and Sustainability award is premiere Adelaide dining restaurant, Orana. With Jock Zonfrillo at the helm, the menu boasts strictly seasonal Indigenous ingredients.
Unsurprisingly, Africola has been noted in the Best Design award. Art filled and a fabulous mish-mash of graphic and clean, the brainchild of chef Duncan Welgemoed and artist James Brown, is one of South Australia’s most interesting venues.
