Visitors to the 2015 Royal Adelaide Show will again have the chance to sample some of South Australia’s best food and beverage products through a project aimed at connecting consumers with locally produced goods.
The Gourmet Goodie Bag, philanthropic brain-child of Tucker’s Natural Managing Director Sam Tucker, is celebrating its 5th Birthday, bringing together products from some of SA’s most respected and iconic brands in a one-stop-shop show bag for lovers of local food and beverages.
Available from Stand 5 in the Showbag Hall, this year’s Gourmet Goodie Bag offers over $70 of products and vouchers for only $20, from some of the states most awarded producers such as Tucker’s Natural, Robern Menz, Beerenberg, Laucke Flour Mills, Haigh’s Chocolates, Bickford’s Australia, Golden North Ice Cream, Nippy’s, Kyton’s Bakery, Farmer’s Union, Bagel Boys Bakery, PODista, The Carob Kitchen, Jonny’s Popcorn Delights, Rainbow Fresh, T BAR Tea Salon, Quinzi’s Confectionery, IGA, Peak Fresh and SA Mushroom Growers Association.
“The goal of the Gourmet Goodie Bag is to increase consumers’ understanding of the value of buying local products, as well help them to more easily identify exactly which brands are local when they shop, and guide them to the retailers that support and stock our products.”
“The Show is always a brilliant chance to discover new things, or revisit old favourites. The Gourmet Goodie Bag is all about helping people do just that, with SA owned and made brands,” says Sam.
In its 5th year, the Gourmet Goodie Bag is packed with retail size product samples as well as vouchers for free products and big discounts from various exhibitor stands PLUS other fantastic offers to redeem after the Show including $5 OFF your next shop at any IGA store.
“As well as tasting the products, we wanted to give people a unique opportunity to actually engage with the producers who make our premium food,” explains Sam.
“We want everyone to celebrate the people who support our local economy and ensure that their products are top of consumer’s minds when they do their weekly shopping. This in turn will ensure that they can continue to manufacture them right here in South Australia, using a local workforce, supporting local service providers, and sourcing local ingredients,” he adds.
The Gourmet Goodie Bag will be available from Stand 5 in the Showbag Hall during the 2015 Royal Adelaide Show, and is proudly supported by IGA, Food SA and Tucker’s Natural.
