South Australian Robyn Verrall named finalist in global Women Changing the World Awards

Robyn Verrall has be named as a finalist at the global Women Changing the World Awards in London.

Keith local and former AgriFuture’s Rural Women’s Award winner, Robyn Verrall, is making an impact on a global level. Robyn has been named a finalist in the 2024 Women Changing the World Awards in three significant categories: Woman in Agriculture & Farming, Rural & Regional Areas Impact, and the People’s Choice Award – Non-Profit. These awards set the stage in London and are graced by prominent figures like Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, and revered speaker Dr. Tererai Trent. They aim to celebrate and commend women globally who lead initiatives in sustainability, education, health, and more, inspiring a collective movement towards global improvement.

Robyn has been making significant strides in various sectors, particularly in agriculture and community support, earning her global recognition. Recognised widely in Adelaide and beyond for her dynamic contributions to agriculture and philanthropy, Robyn’s remarkable journey began two decades ago when she immersed herself in farming after her marriage.

Robyn has successfully launched and grown Bully’s Meats, a prominent beef export venture and local lamb delivery service. Additionally, she co-founded Kere to Country, an Indigenous-owned corporation aimed at combating food poverty among Aboriginal communities through sustainable and cost-efficient fresh meat distributions where food affordability and quality are pressing issues.

Expanding her impact, Robyn initiated Harvesting Potential, an innovative philanthropic initiative providing targeted support through education, entrepreneurship mentorship, and food security. Her commitment and influence as a thought leader and mentor have brought her various prestigious accolades, including the 2022 SA AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award.

“I am thrilled to be nominated and subsequently become a finalist in all three award categories,” Robyn stated. “To me, I do what I do without the expectation of anything in return. But I must admit that it is a nice feeling to be recognised on a global scale for the work and impact I have made.”

In addition to her finalist status, Robyn is set to participate as a keynote speaker at a Global Summit in Windsor Park, London, discussing vital issues impacting regional and rural women and proposing forward-looking solutions. “Flying to London for the Summit at Windsor Park will indeed be a personal highlight for me,” she remarked. “I look forward to sharing my insight on issues affecting women, particularly those in regional and rural areas, and how we can look to overcome any shortfalls or oversights in the near future.”

Robyn’s profile, as described by the Women Changing the World committee, portrays her as a “multifaceted individual, embodying qualities of resilience, compassion, and determination.” Her evolution from a career in corporate healthcare to influential agripreneur and community advocate underscore her adaptability and commitment to creating meaningful change.
