Sparkke at the Whitmore Launches 1st Edition Inhouse Ale

Award-winning Sparkke head brewer Agi Gajic, named one of InDaily’s 40 Under 40, says the aromatic flavourful ale is her first tip-of-the-cap to Sparkke at the Whitmore’s.

Adelaide’s newly opened city brewpub Sparkke at the Whitmore is kicking off its first limited edition inhouse ale. The pub’s highly-anticipated maiden brew, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Summer will be officially released on Monday, 17 June 2019, fresh from the young venue’s compact nanobrewery.

Award-winning Sparkke head brewer Agi Gajic, who was last week named one of InDaily’s 40 Under 40, says the aromatic flavourful ale is her first tip-of-the-cap to Sparkke at the Whitmore’s newly commissioned 800L 2-vessel brewhouse.

Agi says beer-lovers can expect citrus, herbal and tropical aromas generated by the hops, while the brew features high quality malts, including German Spelt Malt.

I Can’t Believe It’s Not Summer is expected to fill no more than 16 kegs, which will be tapped at the bar for customers to enjoy inhouse.

Commissioning the 25sqm brewhouse ushers in a new era for female founded and led social enterprise The Sparkke Change Beverage Company, which launched its vibrant Sparkke at the Whitmore venue in March 2019.

Sparkke supports organisations working to improve the issues talked about on their cans; collaborates with local and independent makers; and is seriously committed to exceptional standards of food and brews – along with social, environmental and corporate responsibility.

From the brewery she designed, Agi has connected with female-led Tanunda dairy farm Jersey Fresh to provide stock feed in the form of spent grain. Next on the radar is a brew that will be showcased at the Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival’s Food for Thought event in July.

And the best part? Agi is always up for a friendly yarn about yeast, brewing and science in general. So head down to Sparkke at the Whitmore to see what the fuss is about.

Sparkke at the Whitmore is located at 317 Morphett Street, Adelaide. Check out their Facebook page here.
