Sparkling Spring to celebrate bubbly bliss in the Adelaide Hills

Sparkling Spring will celebrate the exquisite sparkling wines of the Adelaide Hills with a vibrant events program this October.

This October, wine enthusiasts and sparkling aficionados have every reason to raise a glass: the Adelaide Hills Wine Region is bringing back the bubbly festivities with their renowned ‘Sparkling Spring’ festival.

Amongst the budding vines of the Adelaide Hills, the event will celebrate the exquisite sparkling wines the region is known for with a series of bubbly tasting experiences at cellar doors over the featured weekend and beyond.

The festival features a program of more than 20 events, ensuring everyone can find their perfect way to celebrate, and the gorgeous atmosphere of Spring in the hills with a glass of sparkling wine in hand is a match made in heaven.

“Sparkling Spring focuses attention on the stunning sparkling wines being made in the Adelaide Hills. Spring is a lovely time to visit the hills as buds burst on the vines to signal the start of the growing season. And what better way to celebrate Spring than with a glass of sparkling wine?” Adelaide Hills Wine Region body President Alex Trescowthick says.

“The Adelaide Hills has so many fabulous styles to choose from, ranging from trendy ‘Pet Nats’ to those made by the ‘traditional method’. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience different styles of outstanding quality wines without travelling overseas to France, Italy, or Tasmania. There are world class sparkling wines right here on your doorstep in the Adelaide Hills.”

The Sparkling Spring festival offers a range of experiences for all attendees. If you’re looking to ‘Indulge Yourself,’ you can enjoy a splendid day at Bird in Hand’s picturesque gardens, enjoying the outdoor sparkling bar while savouring delightful food and swaying to live music.

For aficionados looking to delve deeper into the world of bubbles, the festival’s ‘Masterclasses’ come highly recommended. Deviation Road will confidently present their sparkling wines, made using the ‘méthode traditionelle,’ demonstrating they rival the best Champagne in the world.

Foodies, there’s plenty for you too. The festival features ‘Lunches and Brunches’, ranging from exquisite sit-down meals at locations like Mount Lofty Ranges, Cobbs Hill Estate, and Golding Wines, to laid-back picnic hampers courtesy of Simon Tolley. A standout event will undoubtedly be the long lunch by Andre Ursini at Deviation Road, making a comeback for its second year.

And if a luxurious ‘High Tea’ sounds tempting, you’re in for a treat. In a unique collaboration, DAOSA is pairing up with the Silver Sands Beach Club, presenting seafood platters perfectly paired with their premium sparkling wines. Anderson Hill will also be offering Bellinis and Mimosas complemented by delectable canapes at their cellar door, where attendees can enjoy panoramic views.
