Established in 2008, Speaker TV is the flagship project of  Department of the Future (DOTF) – an independent production company that works across a wide variety of disciplines.

Speaker TV interviews a broad range of artists, from international greats including Public Enemy, Lorde, London Grammar, and Arctic Monkeys, to the freshest Australian talent. You’ll find a Speaker TV crew expanding their vault of exclusive and authentic content at Australia’s best festivals and events, including St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival, Falls Festival, Future Music Festival and Big Day Out.  See what to expect from Speaker TV here.

After recently celebrating their fifth birthday, and calling Melbourne’s C31 home for the past four years, Speaker TV are proud to announce that their weekly half-hour broadcast show has gone national across Australian and New Zealand independent community television.

Speaker TV can now be viewed weekly on C31 Melbourne, TVS Sydney, 31Digital QLD, 44 Adelaide and WTV Perth in Australia, and nationally across New Zealand, via Face Television. They pride themselves in supporting community channels and are dedicated to producing unique content that supports artists and musicians – from the smalltime Soundcloud sensations, to the stadium fillers.

Executive Producer, Ivan Gomez says: “Since the community networks switched to digital, we’ve noticed a steep increase in accessibility. Being on community networks nationwide, allows Speaker TV to hold a primetime slot, giving our audience an alternative to the standard primetime rubbish that they’re just not into.  Community channels have broader access and fewer restrictions than pay TV and commercial networks, which means that SpeakerTV stays genuinely independent and authentic – which is why our audience loves it.”

“Speaker TV is one of C31’s most popular programs, and is considered as a flagship program of the station. We are always impressed by the high profile guests that appear on the show. There is nothing quite like it on Australian Television today!” – Caitlin Jolly, Programming Manager at C31 Melbourne and Geelong.

“Speaker TV provides an accessible platform for new and emerging talent in an industry all too often consumed by commercial interests and ‘the next big thing’. The music landscape would be a lot less colourful without the dedicated people at Speaker TV and Face Television is proud to play our part in New Zealand.” – Face Television NZ.

With a newly-designed website at www.speakertv.com, all of Speaker TV’s content is easily accessible 24/7 online.
