Spend a perfect winter’s Sunday at the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market

Every Sunday, visitors to the Farmer’s Market can warm up with some comforting, freshly made produce from over 80 different stalls.

As the colder months draw in, there’s no better way to thaw out on a slow Sunday morning than with the warming, fresh produce and family-friendly activities on offer at the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market, every week.

With over 80 different stalls to explore visitors will be hard-pressed to pick just one stall for a yummy start to their Sunday, with everything from freshly baked sourdough, vegan croissants, Coffin Bay oysters and even Alpaca meat on offer, as well as a roomy car park to guarantee a stress-free start to your visit.

Whether you’re starting off your Sunday fresh as a daisy with a day out for all the family, or feeling a little dusty and looking for a perfect foodie pick-me-up, some of the warming options up for grabs at the Farmers’ Market include Masterchef star Poh’s famous coq au vin pies at JamFace, deliciously spicy shakshuka eggs, or the king of all comfort food, a free-range egg and bacon roll from Toetjes.

Sweet-toothed visitors won’t be disappointed either, with the show-stopping poached apple, crème fraiche and salted caramel waffles from Kuhl Kooking delighting visitors.

Once your cravings are satisfied there are children’s activities on at 9:30am every week to keep the little ones entertained from baking mini pizzas to mindful yoga classes and craft sessions, all run in association with the Children’s University.

For slightly older visitors wanting to get in on the fun there are also free cooking demonstrations every Sunday at 11 to inspire your home cooking where guest chefs (including a number of Masterchef alumni) share their culinary expertise.

Everything on offer at the markets is locally grown, raised and made right here in South Australia, meaning you can go about your weekly shop knowing your basket of goodies is not only chock-full of wholesome, seasonal produce but is also lovingly made by local South Australian businesses.

Entry to the Farmers’ Market is free but annual memberships are available for regular shoppers who receive a 10% discount on every stall at the market each week.

The Adelaide Farmer’s Market is on 8:30-12:30pm every Sunday at the Adelaide Showgrounds, Rose Terrace, Wayville.
