Spend New Year’s Eve Cruising Over The Gorgeous Riverland And Murray

What better way to stargaze, explore the the Riverland, and relax, than on a cruise over New Year’s Eve.

Recently named as one of the best places to see the night sky by the International Dark-Sky Association, the Murray and Riverland is a huge tourism destination for visitors and locals alike.

SeaLink and Captain Cook Cruises are offering two cruises that take you aboard the PS Murray Princess departing from Mannum to Renmark (or vice versa).

The Mannum to Renmark voyage departs Mannum on the 27 of December celebrating New Years Eve before returning from Renmark on the 3 of January, 2020.

If your plans over New Year’s aren’t movable, the Renmark to Mannum alternative departs on January 31, 2020 and arrives on January 7.

Travelling along 420kms of the Murray River, you can expect incredibly beautiful terrain with towering limestone cliffs and an abundance of birds and wildlife.

Aboard the Murray Princess kick back and relax on the open top deck or in the paddlewheel lounger’s watching the working paddle wheel through a two-story glass window.

Join the Captain for a general inspection of the wheelhouse, take part in a lively trivia quiz or even drop a line off the ship; there is something for everyone.

Along the way you’ll stop off at the iconic towns of Kingston-on Murray, Loxton and Walker.

You’ll find the Cobdogla Irrigation and Steam Museum, home to the world’s only working Humphrey Pump at Kingston-on Murray as well as the Kaesler’s Landing Museum at Loxton.

Loxton is also home to The Village where you can unravel the timeless stories of the regions’s early settlers showcased in over 45 recreated buildings and exhibits along the banks of the Murray River. Built in 1894, explore the old township at Waikerie whilst also visiting the Waikerie Machinery Preservation Museum.

The cruise will also stop by Sunnydale where patrons will experience a typical Australian woodshed show, followed by a Native Wildlife Shelter featuring some of South Australia’s most charismatic animals.

Furthermore Renmark cruises also offer the ultimate excitement of navigating through five locks; these include locks at Blanchetown, Waikerie, Overland Corner, Bookpurnong and Renmark.

The Renmark to Mannum cruise also visits Morgan and Swan Reach for a guided walking tour of their townships and a visit to the Swan Reach Museum.

Wine lovers are spoilt for choice with multiple cellar door tastings and a tour of the lush gardens and orchards at picturesque Caudo Vineyard. Sample the delicious local produce and wines from the Riverland and Murray regions at a tasting in the Sturt Dining Room.

A three course dinner and buffet breakfast will be on offer every day with a spectacular Captain’s Buffet Dinner and Dance farewell.

Early bird prices for Mannum to Renmark departing on 27th of December are going for $2352 per person twin share. The Renmark to Mannum cruise however will set you back $2234 per person twin share.

Prices include accomodation, meals, guided nature walks, eco-excursions, onboard presentations, WIFI, live entertainment, use of ship’s facilities including a sun deck, bar, two lounges, restaurant and mini gymnasium and complimentary scenic coach transfers to and from Adelaide. Secure-car parking in Mannum and post cruise coach transfer to Adelaide Airport is also included.
