As Australia gears up for the return of Splendour in the Grass – which became a COVID casualty and was postponed for the previous two years – July is set to be a month of musical wonder.

But it’s not just Byron Bay that will be dazzled with electrifying live music this winter. Several of the headlining acts from Splendour in the Grass are set to rock Adelaide’s live music scene this July as well.

So don’t worry if you didn’t score tickets to the glittery festival – here is the hot headline acts you can expect on South Australian shores this July:

Taking the Thebarton Theatre stage will be Yungblud, set to play this July 24. This is the first time the British pop-punk/indie singer is returning to Australian shores in the last three years, bringing his Life on Mars show to Adelaide crowds.

The festival favourite has cemented himself a loyal Aussie fan base, having played at Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival and Party in the Paddock before. The rising music star is also set to play across Australia, heading to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth – playing hit tracks from his Cotton Candy album.

Alongside Yungblud, music duo Sofi Tukker will also be taking the Lion Arts stage, playing Adelaide their loved electronic dance music tracks. Groove along to top tracks Purple Hat, Drinkee and Best Friend this July 28.

And Splendour isn’t the only festival making its return this winter: SA’s Spin Off Festival will be playing an electric day of live music this July 22.

The pre-Splendour show will see Spacey Jane, Glass Animals, Jack Harlow, Ball Park Music, G Flip, Genesis Owusu, The Chats, Oliver Tree, Tate McRae, Beddy Rays and SA’s Teenage Joans rock the Adelaide Showground crowds.

Spin Off is the best way to experience a slice of Splendour, with its hottest headliners stopping over before making their way to NSW’s North Byron Parklands.

With COVID-19 restrictions set to ease across the next six weeks, South Australia’s live music scene is set to return to its once vibrant self.

So music fans: tickets go live at 9am local time this February 14. You can score them here.
