Spoil Mum with this year’s Mums’ Day Market at the Showgrounds

Let mum choose from MasterChef Poh Ling Yeow’s tempting treats at JamFace.

Join us at the Market for “Market Mums’ Day” this coming Mother’s Day on Sunday 8th May for breakfast, shopping, give-aways, and live music plus we have arranged a “Big Inflatable Castle” for the kids so Mum can kick back a little and have a coffee break; whilst the little ones burn off some energy. All this is happening between 8.30 am – 12.30 pm.

Enjoy a relaxing morning together with great organic coffee, iced tea, homemade breakfast and freshly baked goods.

Let Mum choose from MasterChef Poh Ling Yeow’s tempting treats at JamFace, a homemade hot breakfast at Kuhl Kooking or Dutch sweet pancakes and syrup waffles served up with a hot chocolate at Toetjes.

Then try to resist some of the delicious and indulgent creations to take home, (if they last that long!) like traditional Slavic honey cake from Lato Cakery, freshly baked Portuguese cakes using organic fruit at T’art, authentic French seasonal treats from Mulots Patisserie or mouth-watering lavender brownies and fudge from Fleurieu Lavender.

If Mum’s enjoying a ‘sleep-in Sunday’ why not spoil her with a special breakfast in bed created with farm fresh market goods and presented with a bouquet of locally grown farm fresh flowers, that are sure to last longer, from Rich Pickings and Gooseberry Hill Farms.

Serve her up a farmers market produce breakfast consisting of free-range heritage bacon and sausages by The Dairy Man Barossa and San Jose Smallgoods, pastured or free-range eggs by Murphy’s Crossing, Rhodes, Riverside Farms, freshly baked croissants by Croissant d’Or (including vegan options), and gluten free muffins at Just Gluten Free.

If she prefers a lighter or more continental style breakfast, grab some gourmet natural muesli from Fruit Wise, served up with yoghurt or milk from Paris Creek Farm, Fleurieu Milk or Alexandrina Cheese and garnished with fresh strawberries from Adelaide Hills Berry Farm or Harvest the Fleurieu. Add to the side some seasonal dried fruit from Cooinda Dried Fruit or a selection of seasonal nuts, some even coated in dark chocolate, from Taronga Almonds to Adelaide Hills Fresh Chestnuts.

Now breakfast is sorted, enjoy a leisurely shop together and treat Mum to South Australian food and produce knowing that it supports local farming families and businesses. She’ll love boutique gin, handcrafted artisanal mixers and tonics, home-made jams, preserves, sauces, native plants, and honey.

The more stalls you shop at on the day, the more chances you have to win Mum 1 of 5 Farmers’ Market Hampers filled with farm fresh produce supplied by our very own farmers on Mother’s Day.

Just “Shop to Win” between 8.30 am – 11 am on Sunday 8th May and enter your mother, grandmother, stepmother, or anyone who’s like a Mum to you, who deserves to win a fabulous hamper. Be early to entry our limited draw.

The Farmers’ Market Hamper prizes will be drawn at 12 noon so the lucky winners can take home the hamper to share and enjoy on this special day.

Everything at the market is locally grown or made and is sold by the farming families who grow it, raise it, make it and bake it.

It’s free to enter, so come together, walk, ride, drive or catch public transport and enjoy our authentic farmers’ market atmosphere. Parking is available via Rose Terrace, Wayville.
