Finnish Formula One star, Valtteri Bottas, and Australian Olympic cyclist, Tiffany Cromwell, have officially launched their OATH Gin brand in Australia, bringing their passion project to the land Down Under. The pair, who have already found success in Europe with their premium gin, are now excited to share their creation with the Australian market, offering a taste of both their homelands through a blend of flavours.
OATH Gin, which draws on both Finnish and Australian influences, has already gained recognition in Europe. Now, it’s available online in Australia and at Ambleside Distillers in South Australia, who has been a key partner in this new project.
Both Valtteri and Tiffany have deep personal connections to the ingredients that make OATH Gin so special. For Tiffany, the gin’s signature flavour profile includes crisp apple peels that are distilled into the spirit – a nod to her roots in the Adelaide Hills, where the apples are reminiscent of those she grew up with. Valtteri, on the other hand, connects to the gin’s inclusion of vacuum-distilled oats – a direct connection to his family’s oat fields in Finland.
The gin’s base is crafted from the purest Finnish spring water, which paired with juniper, creates a smooth yet complex taste. The infusion of oats and apples adds a unique twist, while the mellow base notes of floral, spicy, and fruity elements, with a subtle hint of pine, round out the flavour profile.
“OATH is a gin we’re so proud of – it means a lot to the both of us,” Tiffany Cromwell said. “We’ve travelled the world sampling gins and collecting, and now we’re amazed that we have an awesome drink to share with everyone in Adelaide.”
“Cocktail recipes on the OATH Gin website showcase numerous ways to enjoy the alcohol, but a classic gin and tonic with OATH works best with a simple cinnamon stick and apple pieces,” Valtteri Bottas said.
The launch of OATH Gin coincides with the couple’s participation in RADL GRVL, a gravel cycling race during the Tour Down Under on January 24th. This year is the second iteration of RADL GRVL, which features a $7,000 prize purse across the elite women’s and open/men’s categories. Both Tiffany and Valtteri will compete in the event, and the pair is also planning a series of “secret rides” across SA, with details of the routes to be revealed soon.
To celebrate the official launch of the gin in Australia, Valtteri and Tiffany will host a special meet-and-greet event at Ambleside Distillers on Sunday January 26th. This ticketed event will give fans a chance to meet the couple in person, taste their gin, and learn more about the story behind OATH Gin.
