Sprout Cooking School Launches New Classes To Bring Out Your Inner MasterChef

With spring approaching, you’re probably getting ready to entertain your friends in the sun — and Sprout Cooking School have released a bunch of classes teaching you how to do just that!

While some people can cook like they have won MasterChef in a previous life, there are some of us that often find ourselves hopelessly looking on as our attempts in the kitchen go up in flames — sometimes quite literally.

We all need a helping hand every now and again, which is exactly what Sprout Cooking School offers! As the name suggest, Sprout host a variety of cooking classes that can teach you how to master the very basics or even cook up a three course storm to surprise your dinner guests.

And with spring approaching, you’re probably going to find yourself in a growing number of hosting or entertaining situations!

Acknowledging this, Sprout have released a number of new spring classes focusing on things like cooking dishes from scratch, new techniques, matched wines, and local produce. They even have classes led by expert presenters and special guests.

Prices for each class vary, but every class provides all the ingredients, utensils, and help necessary to take you step by step through a cooking process that ends with a successful, tasty dish (or a few, depending on the class).

The classes are hosted by a team of chefs and dietitians who are experienced in meeting everyone’s nutrition and cooking needs, with a focus on fresh, local and seasonal produce.

And, yes, you can make your cake and eat it (so to speak) at the end.

Market to Plate

Saturday, 12 October | Saturday, 2 November

From 9:30am to 1:30pm | $135

This class is focused on inspiring you to use seasonal, local produce. After meeting at Sprout, you’ll make your way to the Adelaide Central Market, where you’ll select the best seasonal ingredients for Sprout’s recipes. Along the way you’ll learn how to select fruits, vegetables, meat and seafood and you’ll sample some of Sprout’s favourite products from the Adelaide Central Market.

Then head back to Sprout and use your freshly chosen produce to create some tasty dishes!

Vegetarian

Wednesday, 25 September | Monday, 28 October

From 6:00pm to 9:00pm | $105pp

Whether you enjoy a vegetarian diet for ethical, health or personal reasons or want to cook a meal all your mates can enjoy, this class will show you how to supercharge your vegetables and make vegetarian meals so enjoyable that even the biggest meat lovers will be back for seconds!

The class can also be tailored for a vegan diet — just say the word when booking.

Back to Basics

Wednesday, 2 October

From 6:00pm to 9:00pm | $105pp

New to cooking? Not confident in the kitchen? Skills a little rusty? This is the class for you.

This three course cooking class teaches you about different cooking techniques, correct knife skills, how to organise your kitchen, basic food safety considerations and seasonality and selecting ingredients. You won’t leave this class as an acclaimed chef, but you will leave more confident.

Easy Entertaining

Wednesday, 13 November

From 6:00pm to 9:00pm | $120pp

Want to host your friends, but worry about what to serve up throughout the night? This class makes the most of beautiful spring produce and shows you how to prepare sophisticated canapes and delicious share dishes that your friends won’t stop talking about.

Everyone is welcome at Sprout, including kids, adults and individuals with dietary requirements, so there’s a little something for everyone.
