If you’re a Prospect local, or a frequent to the area, you may have already been lucky enough to come across this quaint eatery and its mouth-watering selection of pastry boxes.

S’s Cafe and Kitchen has established itself as a delicious brunch spot, offering all-day brekky and becoming well known for their delicious range of made-to-order pastries.

The family business opened in July last year, with locals and visitors alike flocking to the cafe for a locally roasted coffee and a taste of their delicious pastries and fusion eats.

Initially starting out as a food truck, Manager David So says the family’s strong hospitality background lead to the establishment of a brick and mortar cafe.

“I ran a few bubble tea cafes in Hong Kong, and Patrick [David’s brother] was the Executive Chef in Hong Kong and the People’s Republic of China of the TWG Tea Group for almost 12 years, specialising in fusion French cuisine”, David says.

“Patrick is very skilful and passionate about food – he designs a unique menu for the cafe, and we make all our products from scratch, such as bread, pastries, and sauce. We also change the menu at least once a month”, he continues.

Offering up a delicious variety of pastries, everything is freshly made on site to sell by order.

“There are 17 different flavours/types of pastry for the customers to choose from”, says David.

Choices include flavoured danishes, cheesecakes, eclairs, tarts, Madeleine’s, turnovers, millefeuille, cannoli’s and cakes, just to name a few!

If a sweet selection isn’t really your thing, the cafe also does antipasto, cheese and savoury platters, perfect for that next function or event.

Those dining in their cafe can expect a fusion breakfast/brunch menu that includes offerings like their ‘energy’ breakfast’, with mushrooms, avo and calamari as well as their generous prawn rolls and fresh mixed berry bowls with walnut crumble.

So if you’re looking for that next brunch spot, or to nab some delicious freshly baked pastries, make sure to pay a visit to this charming kitchen for a hearty start to the day or a tasty treat or two!
