Famous Adelaide fruiterer Johnny Kapriris is taking on the big supermarkets by providing families with affordable home-delivered pizzas and boxes full of fresh produce.
Working around the clock to keep up with demand, the Kapiris family launched the “super special” in a bid to boost the online store for their Rostrevor business, St Bernards Fruit and Veg Market, and “give people a bit of a break from this crappy economy”.
Until the middle of June, with the code word “STBERNARDS25” Johnny and his team will home deliver a box brimming with veggies fresh from Two Wells market gardens, as well as a box of quality fruit and 10 oven-ready pizzas, made in store…all for $100.
“This will feed a family for a week and also save on fuel, because we will drop if off nearly anywhere in Adelaide,” Johnny said.
In fact, from Two Wells in the North to Aldinga in the South and anywhere in between, Johnny is encouraging everyone to make the most of the ludicrously-priced deal.

Since the super sale launched, the savvy store has gone from hand-making 600 pizzas a week to delivering 5000 12-inch pizzas a week across Adelaide.
Johnny, who has been running the business for 15 years with his wife Leannda and his children, said having a stand-alone store often meant they were often impacted by the weather.
“We’re not in a big shopping centre, so if it’s too hot or wet, people don’t come in as much.
“So I thought stuff it, if you can’t come to me, I’ll come to you.
“If you compare it to an average pizza bar and supermarket, you’d be saving $60 easy, and that’s without delivery.”
The friendly fruiterer has become a bit of an icon since Covid-19 prompted him to hit the social media market, with customers now calling in for some spuds and a selfie.
“I’m a straight shooter. I speak from the heart, and if you like that you like it.
“I like to keep the competition real and keep a happy medium. I worry that in the next 10 years the supermarkets will dominate and customers will no choice but to pay their prices.”
