Summer has come early to the city.
Starting from October 2, Summer Sessions is bringing the glimmering sun to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens and it sounds magical.
Summer Sessions takes place every weekend and on public holidays, running right through summer into next year.
It provides a vibrant garden party for all who dwell over to Schomburgk Pavillion at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens.
Hidden right in the centre of the Botanic Gardens, Summer Sessions is found between the The Diggers Club Garden Shop and Café Fibonacci (which will be catering the regular event).
While the café is open year-round with coffee, wine and food, Summer Sessions expands further into the Botanic Gardens with a popup bar, amazing food menu, live music and cool vibes.
The popup bar pours local wines, beer and spirits and shakes up delicious cocktails. From only $14 the cocktails on offer taste like summer with fruity ranges to Aperol Spritz.
You can look forward to SA wines from Howard Vinyard, Wangolina and Spider Bill Wines, as well as beer and cider from Sparkke Brewery, Prancing Pony and Pirate Life.
The food menu made from local produce ranges from $7 to $15 and is created to share with family and friends. You can look forward to beef sliders with cheddar cheese, dill pickles and tomato relish as well as prawn brioche rolls with Russian dressing and lime and pepper crisps.
There is also be confit duck croquettes with manchego and aioli, and chicken katsu sandos as well as charcuterie and grazing boards to nibble on while soaking in the warm rays.
Summer Sessions always has music to go along with the vibrant atmosphere, but you can look forward to live tunes from South Australian musicians on Saturdays 3pm-6pm and Sundays 2pm-5pm.
For their opening weekend in particular, there was dreamy good vibes from Leni Garrido on Saturday and acoustic duo tunes with On the Double on Sunday.
Brian Ruiz also curates the music for the whole Summer Sessions event with serenading sounds.
Venue manager of Restaurant Botanic Elliott Horner who is overseeing the Summer Sessions event says he is very excited to host the event and provide a family fun garden party.
“We want people to experience the gardens in a new light and we hope to bring refreshing life to it with groovy music and funky food,” Elliott says.
“Summer Sessions opens onto the Mediterranean gardens and overlooks the gorgeous wisteria arches.
“These only bloom for a duration of two weeks – they are in full flight now with stunning purple and white flowers so visitors can look forward to see them blossoming.”
