Statewide Code Blue issued for SA as cold weather, high winds, heavy rain forecast

The Code Blue follows an extreme weather warning for this weekend, and is in effect across South Australia.

Due to a prolonged period of forecasted cold weather, high winds, heavy rain and storm surges, a Statewide Code Blue response will be active from 9am today, with overnight accommodation available in these regions for people sleeping rough.

It follows an announcement that extreme weather is expected for southern parts of South Australia this weekend, with damaging wind gusts over 100km/h, showers, thunderstorms, and possibly record-breaking waves and sea levels.

From 9am Saturday 24 May to 11am Sunday 25 May 2025, a Code Blue is active for:

  • Fleurieu Peninsula
  • Kangaroo Island

From 9am Sunday 25 May to 11am Monday 26 May 2025, a Code Blue is active for:

  • Adelaide Metropolitan
  • Clare Valley
  • Fleurieu Peninsula
  • Flinders
  • Kangaroo Island
  • Lower Eyre
  • Lower South East
  • Upper South East
  • Mid North
  • Mount Lofty Ranges
  • Murraylands
  • West Coast
  • Yorke Peninsula
