Located on a sand dune overlooking Goolwa beach, St Brigid’s is a unique and private escape not too far from the city but far enough to feel completely at peace.
The 110 year old Baltic pine church sits alone at the top of a sand dune on the outskirts of Goolwa’s beach, creating the perfect romantic getaway for couples with an added element of historical intrigue.
Once inside, you will be in awe of the spectacular 100 year old staircase which leads directly to the mezzanine bedroom, fitted out with a Queen size bed to lie back and listen to the sounds of rolling waves.
This private accomodation is fitted-out with everything you’ll need, including a well-equipped kitchen, a newly renovated bathroom with a bath, and a living and dining area.
Owner Sarah Davies described the accomodation as “just perfect” saying, “it’s really peaceful…there’s lots of lovely deck area outside with an outdoor bath…and in the evening you’re looking out over the reserve and national park, so great views.”
If you’re wanting to venture away from the church itself and the surrounding beach, Sarah recommends visiting the Kuti Shack, only a short walk from the accomodation, as the perfect place to grab lunch and enjoy a few glasses of wine without the worry of having to drive back.
This place is not suitable for children, which gives you the best excuse to enjoy a guilt-free weekend away because you couldn’t have brought them even if you wanted to!
