Stellar lineup set to ignite the 2024 Reconciliation SA Fundraiser Gala at SkyCity Adelaide

The 2024 Reconciliation SA Fundraiser Gala, featuring Kee’ahn and Sean Choolburra, promises an evening of culture, comedy, and cuisine, supporting initiatives for First Nations and all Australians.

Reconciliation South Australia has unveiled plans for the third annual Reconciliation SA Fundraiser Gala. Set to take place on the 13th of September 2024, the event will be hosted at the SkyCity Adelaide Ballroom and features the theme ‘Take Action. Ignite Change.’

This year’s event will be a mixture of entertainment, speeches, and a specially designed dinner. SkyCity Adelaide Executive Sous Chef Sebastian Popp will prepare a three-course meal incorporating native Australian ingredients. The gala will also offer a drinks package featuring wines from Bird In Hand.

Leading the evening’s entertainment will be the soulful North Queensland artist Kee’ahn, known for their rich vocals and lyrics that touch on themes of heartbreak and healing. Kee’ahn promises to deliver a performance that reflects their First Nations heritage and encourages reflection and celebration among the audience.

Adding to the night’s entertainment, renowned Australian comedian Sean Choolushura will provide a generous mix of comedy and storytelling. Sean is celebrated for his unique humour and engaging performances, which often include elements of traditional dance and didgeridoo.

The event will also host a silent auction, offering guests the chance to bid on a range of items including original art, holidays, and tickets to seasonal events.

With the aim of enhancing community understanding and supporting reconciliation efforts, the gala is a crucial fundraiser for Reconciliation South Australia’s ongoing initiatives. These include education, advocacy, and the promotion of partnerships that facilitate reconciliation between First Nations people and all Australians.

Luke Carroll, an Australian TV and film actor, will return as the evening’s host. His role in the sold-out 2024 National Reconciliation Week Breakfast earlier this year was warmly received, and he is set to bring his charm to this event as well.

Jason Downs, CEO of Reconciliation SA, highlighted the significance of this year’s theme, emphasising the organisation’s dedication to fostering genuine change. “Our Gala brings people together to celebrate and connect for greater change and opportunities at a time when we all need to step forward, encourage and support others to be active in creating a better future for our State in Reconciliation,” he stated.

The support of the Department for Child Protection as the event’s principal sponsor underscores the importance of reconciliation in achieving better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people within the child protection system.

Tickets for the Reconciliation SA Fundraiser Gala will be available from 10am on the 25th of July 2024 until 5pm ACST on the 6th of September 2024, or until sold out.

This event is a significant occasion on the South Australian calendar, bringing together individuals and organizations committed to advancing reconciliation in the community. It promises an enriching experience with its array of cultural performances, culinary delights, and opportunities for meaningful engagement.
