Next year, Legendary Californian rockers Stone Temple Pilots (STP) will ignite Aussie stages in February and March to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their iconic album ‘Purple’.
During the highly anticipated tour, the Pilots will perform the fan-favourite album in its entirety each night, bringing fans a full blast of nostalgia and raw rock power.
The multi-platinum record was celebrated for its perfect blend of aggressive rock and melodic depth, solidifying the band’s place in music history. Now, three decades later, fans have the chance to experience this classic album live, in all its glory.
It’s set to be an epic journey through the legendary ‘Purple’ album, featuring hits like “Interstate Love Song” and “Vasoline,” which not only topped the Global Rock Charts, but also became anthems of the 90s rock scene.
Released on June 7, 1994, ‘Purple’ catapulted Stone Temple Pilots into rock stardom, following the success of their debut album ‘Core.’
Forming in the late 80s, STP catapulted to fame in 1992 following the release of their debut album Core, going on to be certified 8 x Platinum, snagging the quartet a Grammy Award for the monster hit Plush, and garnering the band the enviable status of being one of the most successful bands of the 90s.
Now with eight studio albums in their wake, millions of sales and streams, countless global tours and a legacy for evolution, Stone Temple Pilots return to the stage.
The tour kicks off on February 28 at ICC Sydney Theatre and will make its way across the country, with stops in Melbourne, Adelaide, Newcastle, Brisbane, and will wrap up on the Gold Coast.
Joining Stone Temple Pilots on this exciting tour is the powerhouse Australian rock band Wolfmother, who will bring their own array of hits to the stage, making this tour a must-see event for rock enthusiasts.
Australian hard rockers Wolfmother are no strangers to a festival setting, having performed at the likes of Big Day Out, Reading and Leeds and Lollapalooza over the years, and most recently completing a huge festival run in Europe and the UK.
Helmed by Andrew Stockdale, Wolfmother has previously taken home a Grammy Award, as well as three ARIA Awards alongside additional nominations, toured relentlessly and consistently balanced modern and classic rock while proudly flying the flag for Australian music.
Adding to the tour’s excitement, Stone Temple Pilots will headline the Hello Sunshine Festival in Melbourne and the Gold Coast. The rapidly growing festival is renowned for showcasing top-tier international acts as an all-ages event that caters to diehard music fans, parents, kids, foodies and everyone in between.
