Australia’s largest performing writer’s program Word Travels’ Story Week will be going online this year from 06-14 November, with an international line-up of performing writers hosting a program filled with poetry slams, talks and shared story-telling experiences.
From daily live shows where musicians, poets and producers share their newest revelations to shared kids bedtime stories and the esteemed Australian Poetry Slam Finals, the Festival is jam-packed with online literary experiences.
In 2020, the program will be completely virtual and bring together a powerhouse of literary talent from across the world for an action-packed week of wordsmithery.

“This year’s line-up is a handpicked selection of provocative writers, exploring themes of race, ancestry, identity and more”, said Miles Merrill, Creative Director of Story Week.
The all-star line-up includes American hip-hop poet reg e gaines, beatbox champion Darian Dauchan and Inuit throat singers slash hip hop act Silla + Rise, amongst other renowned acts. There will also be powerful First Nations performers sharing their stories and skills on the mic as a celebration of NAIDOC week.
The festival will culminate in the Australian Poetry Slam National Final, a spectacular showdown between the nation’s best outspoken wordsmiths on Saturday, 14 November.
