There’s something so wholesome about feasting on fresh, seasonal fruit enjoyed straight from the source – which is probably why the Macclesfield Strawberry Fete is so popular!
Back for its 95th year, the much-loved event was first created to celebrate the beginning of the strawberry harvest in South Australia and has since grown into the large, family-friendly event we know and love.
Tuck into classic combinations such as strawberries and cream, scones with jam and strawberry milkshakes but keep your eye out for some more inventive creations to try. There’ll even be a strawberry-eating competition for those who are searching for that coveted title.
Plenty of entertainment will be on offer across the day with live music as country band ‘Crossfire’ return to the Strawberry Fete stage. Covering rock, blues and traditional country music, they’ll be sure to get your toes tapping with their funky ‘jams’.
A selection of vintage cars will also be on display where you can get up close and personal with the restored engines of the classic vehicles and chat directly with the owners and other car enthusiasts!
Dog agility runs, sheep shearing, face-painting and plenty of games will be sure to keep you and the kids entertained – and the best part? It’s completely free to attend!
