Streaky Sounds Music Festival will return to the picturesque Eyre Peninsula In March 2025 for the festival’s third outing. It’s set to feature a star-studded lineup headlined by Melbourne jazz-funk band The Cat Empire, and supported by South Australian acts and local Eyre Peninsula talent.
Hosted on Sunday, March 9th at the Streaky Bay Oval, Streaky Sounds is an inclusive, diverse, and family-friendly music festival facing the water. As a finalist of the 2024 SA Tourism Awards, the festival offers a full day of live music, food vans, licensed bar, kids entertainment and camping.
Having recently finished a domestic tour alongside some of the finest symphony orchestras Australia has to offer, The Cat Empire will be bringing their infectious jazz, funk, and soul grooves as the closing performance of Streaky Sounds. The seven-piece are currently in the process of finalising their 10th full-length album, Bird in Paradise, scheduled to release just a few days before Streaky Sounds.
Also performing are Adelaide indie-rockers The Tullamarines, who have been rounding off 2024 in style with an east coast tour and brand new single, OMG. Audio Reign will be providing their heavy rock anthems, including songs from their ARIA charting album THE PERFECT SEA. Hard rockers Chicken Salt will also be lighting up the stage, as well as Revel, a 90s and 2000s cover band.
To top it all off, the festival will also feature performances from a range of talented Eyre Peninsula musical acts, including Limited Addiction, The Wot Band, Alice Haddy and DJ Taijyyy.
Beyond the dynamic musical acts, the festival will be home to a feeding frenzy of delectable food trucks and vendors, with Tip Thai Food offering authentic Thai cuisine, Pizza4Shore will be serving up traditional Neapolitan pizza, and FishFix Van will satisfy all your seafood cravings. Holly & Co will also be on site, dishing out cocktails and food.
Local favourites Streaky Bay Distillers will be slinging drinks all night long, and Basil & Belle Coffee Van will be serving up coffee from their mobile truck. More vendors are expected to be revealed closer to the time.
What’s more, this family-friendly event will feature a range of kid-friendly entertainment, including bubble sports and giant chess.
Tickets start from $110 for adults, $40 for teens, $15 for children aged 4-12, and free admission for 3-year-olds and under. There’s also a bonus family discount If you purchase 2 Adult tickets and any 3 kids tickets. FYI, it’s better to book those tickets online, because they’ll be more expensive at the gate.
