Summer is in full swing, and there’s no better way to enjoy the welcomed balmy weather than kicking back with a glass of wine in hand.
The Little Cog is helping Adelaidians slip into the weekend in style, hosting magical Friday evenings at their beautiful stone-brick cottage in the rolling Adelaide Hills.
Nestled next to the iconic Bridgewater Mill, The Little Cog is slinging street food, burgers and tacos to guests of the Friday sessions in their quaint courtyard. With overhanging trees and fairy lights, the lush greenery surrounding The Little Cog makes the eatery a magical place to unwind from a long week.
“It’s a really nice vibe for people to enjoy, and it doesn’t have to be such a special occasion as going to the Mill,” says Marketing and Operations Manager Tori Hobby.
“We wanted to find a medium in the middle that’s lovely for the locals and the beautiful community.
“Doing something on a Friday just makes the weekend better and longer.”
Kiss goodbye to the working week that was and ease into weekend mode, as the little one’s blow off steam in the fantastic playground next door. With kid’s out of your hair, sip on glasses of local wine and stubbies of craft beer or if you’re feeling fancy – a cocktail (or two!). Local musicians will be setting the soundtrack for the evening, wooing you with their acoustic tunes and the sun sets over Adelaide Hills.

Keeping it in the family, Tori’s brother Harry has brought his culinary talents from Henley’s Melt to the Adelaide Hills’. Each week brings a new surprise with what’s on offer at The Little Cog, with Harry using his skills to match spicy tacos, cheeseburgers and mouth-watering snacks to the drinks.
“It’s a very family-orientated and a laid back Friday night… kids can run around and there’s a fantastic playground and plenty of space.
While the Friday night sessions are a regular in The Little Cog’s calendar, the café is open seven days a week, serving coffee and sweet treats weekdays and loaded breakfast burgers on the weekend.
The offshoot of The Mill has intertwined itself with the vibrant Bridgewater community.
As The Little Cog cement themselves as the place to be in the Adelaide Hills, the talented team are looking to expand their kitchen, with exciting developments in the works.
“Since we’ve been there in 2018, everyone’s been so welcoming, and they’re so keen to see the space flourish,” says Tori.
A stone’s throw from Heysen Trail and with the historic Mill wheel rolling in the background, The Little Cog is the perfect place to enjoy the late summer sunshine and catch up with friends.
