Strong wind warnings across South Australia’s Upper and Lower South East Coast

A Gale Warning has been issued by the Bureau of Meteorology for the Lower South East Coast, along with a Strong Wind Warning for the following areas: Adelaide Metropolitan Waters, Central Coast, South Central Coast, Spencer Gulf, Gulf St Vincent, Investigator Strait and Upper South East Coast.

For the rest of the day, a maximum of 19°C is forecast for Adelaide, which will be partly cloudy with a medium chance of showers, becoming less likely late this afternoon and evening. Winds southwesterly 25 to 40 km/h turning southerly 15 to 25 km/h in the evening.

Fire danger for the Mount Lofty Ranges remains high, whereas Adelaide is at a moderate risk.

Additional warnings have been issued for the Murraylands region, with water levels continuing to rise amidst fierce weather conditions.

With cold temperatures, showers and southwesterly winds expected today sheep graziers in the Lower South East forecast district and certain parts of the Flinders and Upper South East district have been issued a warning. As they may risk losing lambs and sheep when they are exposed to these conditions.

The Bureau of Meteorology will continue to provide updates through their website and social media, as to the chilly weather and heavy gusts of wind, which will greet Adelaide on this very cold February morning.
