Studio Pilates Offering Free Classes This June To Support Cancer Charity

Studio Pilates’ inaugural ‘Hundreds for Hope’ day returns, where they hold free orientation classes, raffles and more to raise money for Kids’ Cancer Project.

Studio Pilates is holding their inaugural ‘Hundreds for Hope’ open day this June. The studios are raising funds for charity organisation Kids’ Cancer Project by opening their doors and giving Adelaide the opportunity to experience free reformer Pilates in the Adelaide CBD, Norwood and Henley Beach studios.

Held in 24 Studio Pilates studios across Australia on Saturday 8 June, all donations on the day will go to Kids’ Cancer Project, who support children with cancer and those that love them.

There will be free all-day orientation classes from 9:30am – 2:30pm. Studios have also partnered with local businesses to raise donations for raffles and prizes, including Silk Laser Clinic, Grilled @ Grange, Nourished Kitchen, and many more.

Kids’ Cancer Project raises funds to boost their investment into medical research to improve treatments for kids with cancer and aid in providing a cure. The charity’s belief is that by in investing in medical research, finding better treatments, building capabilities and developing survivorship programs, they will find a cure.

Ash Giles, owner of a Studio Pilates Springfield, Queensland found out her young son has a brain tumour, which is how “Hundreds for Hope” Day was born.

“For our family, those terrifying and unthinkable words, ‘Nash has a brain tumour’, came when our little man was nine months old,” said Ash.

“Four Australian families hear the words ‘your child has cancer’ every day and three children die from cancer each week. These figures are alarming and most people are still unaware that children are getting cancer and just how many little warriors there are battling this disease”.

“Through our gut-wrenching journey of chemotherapy and brain surgery, we have seen the direct effects of current treatments available to children. Seeing a child battle cancer changes you forever.  It has changed our family forever and was the catalyst for us joining the Studio Pilates Family, who have humbled us with their support and action to raise awareness for childhood cancer,” continued Ash.

Studio Pilates franchisee, Jo Thiele, said, “If you’ve ever wanted to try Pilates, now is your chance! We encourage anyone in Adelaide who’s ever been curious to try Reformer Pilates to head down to one of our studios for a free orientation class and to give to a great cause. We’d love for you to reach into your pockets for any gold coin donations on the day, and to try your chance at winning some of our incredible prizes donated from our supportive local community.”

“From the bottom of our Heart and those of all other families on this journey… thank you!” concluded Ash.

Studio Pilates is a state-of-the-art, scientifically-based way of transforming the entire body on a reformer in 40-minute sessions.

For those who cannot attend the day, collection tins will be available on the counters in studios, and donations can be made via https://charityfundraiser.everydayhero.com/au/studio-pilates-international
