The River Vista, an award winning cottage set atop a cliff and boasting 180 degree views of the mighty River Murray, has expanded to host magical weddings and intimate celebrations.
The brain child of Morgan Pfitzner and Sam Gallard, a young family who have grown up on the banks of the Murray – The idea for the Vista was an obvious one after visiting the east coast of Australia on a working holiday and discovering the notable difference between a Hotel stay and the curated, iconic stays on offer.
“Since launching the property in 2021 for short-stay luxury accommodation, I have received constant wedding enquiries for couples who wanted to celebrate their most magical day cliffside!” Morgan said.
“We had no intention of hosting weddings – until the most down to earth couple came to us, two months out from their wedding, with the devastating news that they were unable to proceed and would need to find higher ground, due to the emerging River Murray floods in 2022.”
“And so, our very first River Vista wedding came to life!”
“It wasn’t until we heard the guests say this was one of the most incredible wedding experiences they have ever had – and saw the property transform into everything the couple had dreamed it could be, that we knew this wasn’t something that we could just do once.
“How could we possibly deny people of this experience now?!” Morgan said.
A wedding at The River Vista – like the accommodation – is curated to perfection. Guests can enjoy a pre-event complimentary stay at the property, essential to take a moment to connect with The River Vista and get to know the different spaces – enabling couples to spend time planning the finer details, sipping a wine in the fire pit, scouting photo locations and savouring the moment.
A Vista wedding features a completely diverse range of locations and ambiances for imagery. From within The River Vista cottage to the expansive lawns, native vegetation / national park, deep red soils, sandy white and red cliffs, flood plains and even exclusive access to the private family citrus orchard that neighbours the cliffside property.
The boutique accommodation turned wedding venue is perfectly placed between the popular Riverland towns of Renmark and Berri, and is ready to service the increasing demand for boutique, dry-hire wedding venues in South Australia.
