If a Palm Springs, pastel-coloured oasis sounds like your dream party or wedding venue, then you’re in luck. A stunning new spot has opened in the Barossa Valley, and it’s bringing all these vibes right to our doorstep.

After four years of careful planning, Rosado is finally open in Altona, just between Lyndoch and Rowland Flat. Rosado is located at the heart of the Barossa’s food and wine scene, but sits 1.1 kilometres away from neighbouring properties. Available as a dry-hire venue for all types of events, big or small, this little slice of heaven gives guests the freedom to let loose and unleash their creativity, while keeping their event totally private.

The key focus for owners and newlyweds Luke and Hannah Manuel is client satisfaction. “The number one value for us, is getting people in, talking to them afterwards, seeing what they loved and what we can do better,” shared Luke.

“It’s been a heck of a journey, but we’re very lucky now that we’ve gotten through all the hubbub of the landscaping and the design and all the fun stuff, and now we can actually run it.”

So, what separates Rosado from the rest? Luke says they’ve got the best of both worlds with stunning backdrops for both summer and winter.

“When we first went up to the space, which was very raw and needed a lot of work, we noticed there was a bit of an opportunity for a niche market, and we really fed into that sort of harsh, arid, desert-inspired landscape that’s shaped our Palm Springs theme.

“I think that by not necessarily competing with other beautiful properties that already exist, and offering something completely different and almost out of left-field, we’re hoping that what we’ve created is something that is really unique and memorable.”

From fun-filled hens’ parties to idyllic outback weddings, Rosado caters to more than just the bridal scene. “We have such a wonderful space, we almost feel guilty targeting it at just one bracket,” says Luke. “We really encourage anything from small events and occasions to corporate events, and we’ve got photographers that want to do some stylised shoots here, which is pretty exciting.”

The venue also operates as an Airbnb, and held Rosado’s official opening on October 16th. Luke says they’re expecting big things for 2026 and beyond. “We do have a lot of creative and really fun ideas for the next 3-5 years, which will see us probably become a community integration space as well and hopefully offer some different events from what’s currently available in the Barossa.”
