One of Adelaide’s east end favourites, Sugar, is back with a completely new look after being closed for the past few months.

The new renovations have seen Sugar adorned with a glossy, sugary sweet overcoat.

From the pool tables to the walls, to the glittery vinyl couches (designed and made by local artist Stoops) everything is pink.

The night club has been under a COVID-induced closure for the past few months.

The closure gave the club owner a chance to sweeten things up a bit, without getting rid of the original gritty-charm Sugar fans have grown to love.

There are sugary nods scattered throughout the venue, from candied gummy bears to sugar beetles climbing up the walls, it’s one enjoyable sugar high.

The venue also functions as a gallery space for local artists to showcase their work.

Sugar’s sweeter than ever week-long line up of music-filled events has just been announced and includes:

Thursday – Kamlehoke

A karaoke night hosted by icon Mark Kamleh.

Friday – Disco Derriére

Put on your disco shoes, and dance the night away to some 70s beats, even if you’ve got two left feet.

Saturday – House Sitting

As wild as your usual Saturday night minus the dance floor. Don’t worry, the cosy cocktail and chill vibe will make up for it.

Sunday – Live Jazz

Just the end you need to a long week. Live music and good energy only.

The venue has a 100 person capacity to comply with social distancing measures, so make sure you get in quick to grab a spot.

Sugar is located at Level 1, 274 Rundle Street.
