Summer in the north just got better, as a local spot levels up with two-for-one cocktails, DJs and weekend entertainment

Para Hills Community Club is stepping into summer with a brand-new menu, revamped cocktails, live music and DJ deck parties.

Summer in the suburbs just got a whole lot hotter, with the Para Hills Community Club stepping up as the north’s newest go-to spot for cocktails, live music and easy nights out. What’s long been a favourite local hangout is now transforming into a full-blown summer destination, rolling out DJs, bands, seasonal menus and good vibes for anyone looking to switch up their weekends without trekking into the city.

If you’re not yet familiar, the Para Hills Community Club is one of those places that quietly does it all. Established back in 1966, the club was built by and for the community, with no owners, no shareholders, no corporate bells and whistles. Instead, it’s run as a not-for-profit with a dedicated committee, and it’s evolved into a family-friendly spot with a bistro, kids playground, two decks, function spaces and events spot.

That hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed either. They recently took out the award for Best Entertainment with Clubs SA, a huge recognition celebrating everything they work for day in and day out.

To celebrate, this summer they’re kicking things up a notch.

The club has just launched a fresh seasonal menu filled with share-friendly dishes perfect for warm summer nights. There are sandos, summer bowls, pub favourites and plenty more grazing-style plates designed for groups. The cocktails have had a glow-up, too, with a brand-new list dropping just last week. Kick back with summer classics like spicy margs, pina coladas and lemon spritzes, ready to enjoy during long afternoons. To make it even better, their cocktail specials can be enjoyed with their two-for-one deal every Friday.

Entertainment-wise, there’s a jam-packed program lined up. Every Saturday night features a live band from 8:30pm until late, Sundays switch to an acoustic session from 4pm, and once a month the club brings in a DJ for summer DJ sessions on the deck. The DJ sessions have already kicked off, and while the first two were warm-ups, December is expected to really bring the energy.

These Friday night parties are all about kicking back without the hassle of parking, Ubers or city prices. It’s the perfect spot for groups of friends, after-work hangs, date nights, and anyone ready to slide into the weekend without going too far from home.

And if you’re not a member or a local, there’s no worries. Everyone’s welcome, though members score perks like food and drink discounts up to 15 per cent off, birthday treats, access to members’ draws and the club’s new app.

So if you’ve been looking for somewhere new to explore, the Para Hills Community Club is clearly setting its sights on becoming the north’s summer destination. Expect more parties, more live music and more reasons to stay local all summer long.
