Balmy weather, lush lawns and shimmering silver screens – Australia’s summer nights will be sparkling again as Moonlight Cinema returns for their 20th season in 2015/16.
Moonlight Cinema, Australia’s favourite and biggest outdoor cinema, will show advance screenings, new releases and cult favourites all summer long. The grass is definitely greener in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth as film-lovers camp out on bean beds to enjoy a movie in a gorgeous alfresco setting.
Drum roll please… the coming seasons dates are: Adelaide, Dec 3 – Feb 14 on the lawns of Botanic Park; Brisbane, Dec 16 – Mar 6 on the lawns of New Farm Park at Brisbane Powerhouse; Melbourne, Dec 3 – Mar 27 on the Central Lawn at the Royal Botanic Gardens; Perth, Dec 5 – Mar 27 at Kings Park and Botanic Garden and Sydney, Dec 3 – Mar 27 on the lawns of Belvedere Amphitheatre in Centennial Park. Whilst North Queensland cinema lovers can enjoy Moonlight Cinema Port Douglas at designer resort QT until October 4, 2015.
To spice up this ultimate summer cinema experience, inspired by US-style food trucks, Moonlight will be dishing out scrumptious snacks nationally. Want to pack your own? No problem, Moonlight Cinema is B.Y.O. so audiences can relax under the stars with a home packed hamper of goodies.
Film-loving pups are also in for a treat, cuddling up and catching a flick with their humans, as the well-loved Doggie Nights return this season. Also making a comeback are everyone’s favourite cult classic nights and special themed screenings.
“Moonlight Cinema has become a quintessential part of the Australian summer for twenty years, with a bigger audience joining us each year,” said the Group Director of Marketing, Ian Sutherland.
“We are so excited to share another season of films, scrumptious snacks and summer nights with film-lovers all over Australia!”
With reserved bean beds in a premium viewing location with food and drinks delivered throughout the movie, Moonlight Cinema’s Gold Grass takes this outdoor cinema experience to an exceptional level; the perfect way to pamper yourself and someone special.
Moonlight Cinema brings the festival atmosphere to film-watching. Gates are open an hour and a half before the film starts so grab all your mates or loved ones for a night of summer fun, food and film under the stars!
