Sumptuous Modern Asian Fusion Dishes At Glenelg’s Newest Restaurant, POLK

With mouth watering modern Asian fusion dishes, cocktails and a beautiful setting, POLK is the new restaurant in Glenelg to check out.

Sitting in the former Mestizo location is a new wine bar and restaurant, instantly recognisable for its bold neon sign. POLK is Glenelg’s newest modern Asian fusion restaurant.

POLK is the latest endeavour by husband and wife duo, Peter and Yai who also own Sabai Cafe, across the road.

Noting the support and loyalty of locals, the duo cannot wait to continue welcoming them as customers.

Their modern Asian fusion menu is the product of the talented Rigzin Dorji Wangmo (Bhutan) & Daao Chiengsaengthong (Thailand), with the front of house being looked after by local identity Mel Phiriyathorn.

With an ‘Easy Eats’ section that includes handmade pan fried gyozas and Kingfish sashimi, to a selection ‘To Share’ beginning with sticky ribs and then sides and desserts on offer too, we’re certainly not short of choice.

Their menu also clearly points out which one of their delicious creations are vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free friendly.

Peter tells us that the name, POLK is derived from an old song ‘Polk Salad Annie’, which was then shortened to ‘Polk Salad’ and then to the more memorable, POLK that shines bright and neon above the doors.

POLK Restaurant is open Tuesday-Saturday from 5pm.

You can find them at 114 Partridge Street, GLENELG Sth, 5045. For full menu and booking, visit their Facebook page
