Supercars return to SA this July with 3-day OTR SuperSprint event

The sixth edition of the OTR Supersprint returns to Tailem Bend with three days of action on and off the track.

South Australia has a long, rich history with motorsports and while we may have lost that one big event to our neighbours, there is still plenty of racing action happening in our great state.

With the creation of The Bend Motorsport Park in 2018, South Australia has solidified itself as a true contender as Australia’s true home of motorsports and the annual OTR SuperSprint is one of the most popular events on the racing calendar.

This July, the Bend Motorsport Park will play host to the Repco Supercars championship for the sixth edition of the OTR SuperSprint.

5 cars set up on a hill with people sitting around them in chairs and standing on top with holden flags flying.

The 3-day event will see in excess of 10,000 people attend South Australia’s own world-class facility spanning from corporate hospitality to premium GA spectator areas with all ticket types granted paddock access.

And whether you’re a regular rev head or don’t know your engines from your exhausts, there will be plenty of off-track action to keep everyone entertained.

An aerial stunt show by The Silver Shark’ will bring Top Gun vibes to Tailem Bend, a family-friendly Hot Wheels activation zone will keep the kids amused and fireworks on Saturday night are always a crowd-pleaser

Live DJs across the weekend will bring the festival atmosphere to the freshly activated in-field area and will see Brazilian Samba dancers bemuse crowds while sponsor activation zones offer all ticket holders the opportunity to enjoy the best in food, hospitality, and entertainment.

The Bend Managing Director Dr Sam Shahin has stuck firmly on his commitment to South Australian and Australian motorsport and is all in with this year’s event

“We want to be affiliated with the best motoring events and festivals from Australia and abroad, and we have never wavered from the commitment to bring first-class events to our shores,” he said.

“The expanded Asian Le Mans series is contracted for two more events at The Bend and the growth of two-wheel racing at the venue has been astonishing with the recent Australian Superbike round featuring Jack Miller providing an incredible spectacle.”

For the racing enthusiasts, there is non-stop on-track action with a record 5-support categories including Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup and Historic Touring Cars. And to celebrate the current construction of the Bend’s $30-million-dollar Dragway, you better believe you’ll be able to catch fire-breathing drag cars steaming up and down the main straight.

Around an hour out of Adelaide, Tailem Bend is a riverside town with plenty of accommodation available should you want to make a full weekend out of it.

Alternatively, a bus service will be running to and from The Bend for the duration of the event and for just $5, it serves as an affordable option to take the pressure out of travel.

Tickets for corporate hospitality, grandstand and general admission tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.

The OTR The Bend SuperSprint will take place on July 29 – 31 2022 at The Bend Motorsport Park, 542 Dukes HWY, Tailem Bend 5260.
