Carrick Hill is bringing the perfect Garden Party this October to raise funds for Catherine House.
The event is just a few weeks away, taking place on Sunday 9 October and taking over the Elm Lawns of Carrick Hill. The historical period building is one of very few of its kind in the country. Looking onto the city lights, the grounds are perfect for a day in the sun.
All proceeds from the event will go to Catherine House to aid their support of South Australian Women. Speaking with Amy Schapel, one of the event organisers, she explains, “Catherine House is such an important charity, offering crisis, longer-term accommodation and support services for women experiencing homelessness”.
After the stress of the last few years, Amy notes that now more than ever people can empathise with how easily homelessness can happen to anyone.
“For women, homelessness is often hidden, and primarily due to domestic violence, mental and physical health issues, poverty and a lack of safe affordable housing,” says Amy.
The event is a much-needed opportunity to raise spirits (and money!), so don your best sundress for a relaxing day on the lawns of Carrick Hill. Bright spring attire is a must!
Tickets are priced at $90 per person, which includes afternoon tea from Carrick Hill’s catering team Tabel Catering. What’s more, the wine will also be supplied by Serafino Wines for you to sip the day away on.
There will also be fun activities available to take part in on the day. Think croquet on the lawn, giant jenga, noughts and crosses, live music, and more. The event will kick off at 2pm and conclude at 5pm, so don’t worry you’ll still be well rested for work on Monday.
