For a month, in the middle of Adelaide’s madness, there is a new venue, offering to entertain us, confuse us and make us feel like we’ve traveled to another country, all for the price of a drink.
After wading through an official statement from his holy highness Doctor Ya Ya, the President of Surrender, we were torn as to whether someone had too many happy pills, or if we were being clued into the newest, coolest thing that was just a touch out of our comprehension.
Surrender is a micro-nation which will be popping up at Blue Hive on the InterContinental Plaza along the riverbank precinct, from January 20th to Mark 15th.
Dancing, drinking and dining is on offer from the guys who brought us BARRIO, and their nightly State Banquet, folkloric performances and Surrendernesian (see what they did there) Expo is sure to entice. The DJ and entertainment line up is already locked in (see below) including J Rocc (U.S./Stones Throw), DJ Muro (Japan/Jazzy Sport), Dexter, Late Night Tough Guy, Ali B (U.K.), Total Eclipse (U.S/X-Executioners), HMC (Dirty House) & LTJ Bukem (U.K.), with pre-sale tickets available for fans.
With a capacity of 1500, it sounds like one hell of a party, and we’re all invited.
Friday to Sunday it’s open from 6pm – 2am and entry will set you back $10 unless you roll up before 7:30pm.
Limited early bird tickets are also available via FringeTIX, plus there will be tickets at the door.
