Have you ever dreamed of creating your own jewellery? Syndey handmade jewellery brand Blonde is hosting workshops in Adelaide offering the chance to turn that dream into reality. Whether you’re a jewellery enthusiast or simply looking for a creative way to spend your day, this workshop offers an unforgettable experience where you can design and craft your very own bespoke rings.
“Blonde is a small jewellery brand that I started about five and a bit years ago,” shared owner Oscar.
“It was really just an interest in jewellery at the time, it was not supposed to be a business, not supposed to be a brand so to speak. It was really just me delving deeper into the world of jewellery.”
What began simply as a hobby for Oscar has grown into a full-time business.
“A major turning point of the brand was about three years ago when we started the ring-making workshops. Honestly, I got bullied into starting these, a friend of mine went down to Melbourne and I think he did an earring or a necklace course, and he came back to Sydney raving about it. He knew I was making rings and jewellery, and I think he just wanted another free class, so bullied me into starting the workshops.
“Now the workshops are really me sharing my passion for jewellery. I really enjoy teaching them, and so does the team.”
After receiving a fantastic reception in Sydney Oscar decided to take these classes around the country. For Oscar and the team at Blonde Adelaide is the most recent launch.

“I think people just enjoyed making stuff with their hands, getting out of their head for a couple of hours, and leaving with something they’ve made themselves.
“Every location is different, every place we do run ring-making classes the teachers involved are always local makers, artists, and craftspeople. In Adelaide, we’re working from the Mill, which houses an awesome collective of artists, in their main gallery space which is absolutely stunning.”
These classes are designed to be as user-friendly as possible, so whether you’ve never done anything like this before, or are a total pro, everyone is welcome.
“The class is designed for people with absolutely no jewellery experience who have never touched a tool in their lives. We’ve always wanted to make the classes as accessible as possible, so look, if you’ve got a bit of experience that’s fantastic, you’ll be even better at the classes, but they’re designed to introduce people to jewellery making in a beginner-friendly way with lots of support from the teachers.”
Blonde is set to release a new collection in the next few months. Although they don’t yet have a retail location in Adelaide, people can shop Blonde’s jewellery, directly from their website.
