Overheard at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Tuesday night: “I love Kimbra. I loved her before she was popular.” True, Kimbra Johnston’s popularity has skyrocketed in the last 12 months (special thanks to Gotye for that one), but what is perhaps most refreshing about the 22 year old Kiwi singer and hipster darling is even with all the attention and accolades , she’s been nothing but herself, and it doesn’t look like she’ll be changing anytime soon. Tuesday night’s show, the first on her most recent national tour, couldn’t have summed it up better.
