This superb concert was performed by two of the featured musicians in the forthcoming Adelaide Symphony Orchestra concert of the music of Tan Dun: Xiaoxia Zhao, playing the Guqin, and cellist, Li-Wei.
There is so much to recommend this production and anybody who saw their past productions will need no urging. If you have never seen this group before, you should see this production.
This was a most rewarding experience, both for the chance of seeing this incredible woman at the height of her career, and for the brilliant composition and orchestrations of Ben Walsh played by such a superb group of musicians

Many would recall seeing Codgers, written by Don Reid. This new production is his take on the women of that same advanced age group, with the occasional reference linking this to the earlier work.

Adelaide artists Khai Liew and Bruce Nuske have collaborated to present Irrational and Idiosyncratic at the Samstag Museum of Art in August and September, an exhibition of works inspired by the 19th-century European response to all things oriental.
The audience was totally captivated by this marvellous production, proving that is really is a family evening out. Try to get tickets if you can.
These eight songs would have surely made a connection with any mothers or mothers-to-be in the audience. Let’s hope it is not another decade before it gets another performance in Adelaide.
Nathan O’Keefe was an obvious choice to play Pinocchio, with his great ability to create believable and convincing characters and, very importantly, his superb physicality.
This was another very fine night of opera from our State Opera company, but you might need to be very quick if you still want to get tickets, if opening night’s full house was anything to judge by.
