St. Jude’s Players have every right to be proud of what is being presented, and they deserve full houses every night. Make sure you get a ticket if you want to see some first class theatre.

Shadowlands, written by William Nicholson and directed by Vicky Horwood, takes us into C.S. Lewis’ life, behind the stories of fantasy fiction, and into the the very moving and personal story of his befriending, then falling in love with American writer and poet, Joy Gresham.
All in all, it was easy to see why the house was full and the applause was enthusiastic. This production is lots of fun, but with depth and meaning, making it a good night out.
The play takes us back to the Thatcher era, a time of vast unemployment, especially in the industrial North of England.
