I know it’s been a successful Parklife when I can 1) Name a new artist I’ve never seen before and now love. 2) See an act I formerly liked and now don’t care for. 3) Check a favourite off my must-see list, and 4) Walk past far too many people on my way to the Botanic Gardens who didn’t quite make it past their pre-drinks. I guess that makes 2012 a winner. And while I hope the dubstep isn’t here to stay, I’ll get used to it if I have to. 5 Parklife Festivals later and I’m in no rush to miss out in 2013.
Adelaide called. Spin Off Festival answered. Yes, we’re well acquainted with big name artists and festivals passing us by (and no, we haven’t forgiven you quite yet) but with the weather surprisingly sunny and a slew of big names hitting the stage at the Wayville Showgrounds, Adelaide festival goers ready to get their taste of Splendour in the Grass were in good spirits.
Electric Circus and co. are following on from an exciting 2011 by continuining to host some of the most unique and eclectic names in music. Phil Smith, DJ for legendary UK group Oasis, will be playing a one-off set this Thursday, February 2.
Big Day Out are pleased to announce that the custom-made 14ft high x 40ft wide vert ramp will also play host to its very own ‘stage’ in Adelaide and Perth, and will take over from the main arena as soon as the main stage bands have unplugged. Concert-goers will be able to witness the awesomeness of the world’s best skaters to a live soundtrack by the likes of Mariachi El Bronx, The Bronx, Cage The Elephant and Regurgitator.
