Take A Peek At Adelaide Hills’ Howard Vineyard’s Gorgeous New Look And Restaurant

Lazy Sunday lunches are looking ultra glam at this family-owned Adelaide Hills winery.

At this time of year, there’s not much we love more than a lavish long lunch amongst the vines. And we’re loving the new Sunday offering at Howard Vineyard, which nails both the lazy-lunch vibes plus a top-notch menu.

Set amongst the sprawling vines, towering gumtrees and terraced lawns of Nairne in the Adelaide Hills, the existing historic property at Howard Vineyard has had a makeover, with a number of sophisticated, modern tweaks.

The team at the family-owned winery have spent the past 12 months lovingly renovating the cellar door, as well as adding new restaurant Clover + Stone.

The restaurant offers the full farm to plate experience with a South-East Asian inspired menu incorporating an abundance of seasonal local produce.

The oriental influence is the product of head chef Chang Koog Le and his wife Jenny, who came to Australia eight years from Korea.

The real highlight? On Sunday afternoons the space transforms into a foodie haven, with the summer set menu of five courses, from seared salmon tataki with wasabi mayo, to crispy pork and kimchi dumplings, and delightfully smokey duck with chickpea and blackbean. Lunch can be matched with the winery’s cool climate wines, and there’s also acoustic live tunes and room for a spot of croquet on the lawns.

If you only have time to pop in or if you’re in the area during the week, the cellar door (which has also had its own refresh) is also open Wednesday to Sundays for wine tastings.

Howard Vineyard is also known for hosting stunning weddings, and the renovations have increased their offering with packages that encapsulate everything an Adelaide Hills wedding is all about; rustic charm, rolling hills, vineyard views, beautiful gardens, understated elegance and a relaxed yet sophisticated ambience.

There’s a special spot under the property’s ancient oak tree or overlooking the vineyard for the ‘I Dos’, before pre-dinner drinks and delicious canapes on the picturesque lawns and terrace, and plenty of space inside the rustic stone barn to dine and dance the night away.

Howard Vineyard is open Wednesday – Sunday, 10am to 5pm. For more info and bookings, visit
