There’s been a lot of change happening at Coopers Brewery in Regency Park, including a $70 million development that’s already created 24 employment opportunities for beer-loving South Australians.
As Australia’s largest independent family-owned brewery, Coopers is searching for individuals with a passion for beer and hospitality to join the team at its new development.
This two-story expansion has significantly increased the products and services Coopers can offer its customers, including a new restaurant and bar, a dedicated tasting room, an interactive history display, a merchandise store, and a spacious outdoor plaza dining area.
A new microbrewery and whisky distillery are also being incorporated.
Just as beer isn’t beer without the active, live yeast to bring it to life; a brewery can’t tap into its potential without humans who understand how to use and celebrate it. So, if you know your malts from your hops and your IPA from your Pilsner, Coopers Brewery want to hear from you.
Various permanent and casual positions are available, spanning both the front and back of the house, including roles for chefs, beer ambassadors, bar assistants, and kitchen hands.
Opportunities also exist for leadership positions such as Head Chef, Sous Chef, and Assistant Manager.
Newly appointed Coopers Venue Manager Peter Morelli is spearheading the recruitment efforts to ensure a visitor experience that stands out.
“I’m looking for passionate people who love a beer, enjoy interacting with others and want to be part of something truly special,” Peter said.
“There’s a lot of excitement about what’s taking shape at Coopers Brewery. This is a rare opportunity to join a great South Australian family company and work in an iconic tourist attraction.”
“We’re looking to have our team ready to hit the ground running when the doors open to the public in August.”
Peter, one of Australia’s most seasoned hospitality experts, will oversee the transformation of Coopers’ $70 million investment into a fascinating, enriching, and delicious, experience for visitors.
Recognized for his outstanding contributions to the hospitality and tourism sectors, Peter was inducted into the Restaurant and Catering Association of Australia’s Hall of Fame in 2015.
With over 30 years of experience, Peter has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a proven track record of success in managing iconic venues, including his stint directing the acclaimed visitor food and wine experiences at the d’Arenberg Cube in McLaren Vale and Penfolds Cellar Doors in Magill Estate and the Barossa Valley.
He has also overseen hospitality and functions at prominent establishments such as SkyCity, Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Adelaide Festival Centre, and the historic Lion Hotel.
Having just commenced with Coopers Brewery in May, Peter’s first objective is to assemble a team capable of providing a world-class hospitality and visitor experience.
It goes without saying that Peter’s incoming and current Coopers’ team members will receive a Masterclass in venue and experience management while working with Peter. In return, Peter will fulfill a long held desire to work with a family business he’s admired for many years:
“I’ve enjoyed a close association with Coopers throughout my career and have always thought if the right position came along, I would love to join this great family business,”
“I’m excited to develop an immersive destination that connects visitors with Coopers’ proud history, provides insight into the brewing process and allows the opportunity to taste the best of Australian beer.”
“Visitors will certainly notice the wow factor when they arrive here,” Peter said. “The unforgettable experience will focus on ice-cold beers, top-quality food, an enjoyable atmosphere and fantastic service. We want guests to tell their friends and family about it and make it the place they bring visitors from interstate and overseas.”
