Tasmania opens border to South Australia

Travellers who have spent 14 days in a low-risk area prior to arrival in Tasmania are not required to quarantine.

As of today, Tasmania has eased border restrictions with “low-risk” areas, including South Australia.

Conditions of entry into Tasmania will depend on where travellers have spent time prior to arrival.

Travellers who have spent 14 days in a low-risk area prior to arrival in Tasmania are not required to quarantine.

Those wishing to enter Tasmania must register their travel and contact details via the Tas e-Travel system a maximum of three days before arrival.

Low-risk areas include:

  • Queensland
  • Australian Capital Territory
  • South Australia
  • Western Australia
  • Northern Territory
  • New Zealand
