Tasting Australia returns this week and these are the delicious events to book right now

Tasting Australia is back from May 8th, bringing ten days of unforgettable food, wine and culinary experiences across Adelaide and regional South Australia.

The countdown is now well and truly on to Tasting Australia presented by Journey Beyond, kicking off in just a few days from May 8th to 17th. The city will shift pace as venues across South Australia transform into stages for chefs, winemakers, producers and storytellers to turn food and drink into something far bigger than what’s on the plate.

This love letter to South Australian produce follows the city to the regions, from fine-dining collabs to relaxed shared tables. Tasting Australia has built its reputation on the simple idea that the best food experiences don’t just feed you, they connect you. And in 2026, that idea is everywhere.

Greek Club

The 2026 program brings together some of the country’s most exciting chefs, winemakers and hospitality talent, alongside emerging producers and unexpected collaborations you won’t find anywhere else. One day it’s a deep dive into the future of Australian wine, the next it’s a Greek feast soundtracked by live music, or a seasonal lunch that tastes like pure autumn comfort.

At its core, Tasting Australia is all about discovery. New labels, new ideas, and new ways of thinking about what South Australian food and drink can be. And just as importantly, it’s about accessibility, whether that’s a $100-and-under experience, a casual Town Square drop-in, or a full-scale signature event.

Town Square

Town Square remains the festival’s social engine room. With free entry, it turns Square/Tarntanyangga into a casual meeting point. It’s an easy place to grab a quick bite, stay for a drink, catch live music, and inevitably bump into someone you know.

If you’re looking for a handful of must-attend events, we’ve curated a few you should add to your itinerary this May.

Lunch at Good Neighbour

The Future In Your Glass

While South Australia might already be a global wine heavyweight, there’s always a new generation of makers ready to shake things up. The Future In Your Glass brings together 11 of the state’s most exciting emerging producers for a fresh tasting experience.

You’ll sample wines from rising stars across McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills, the Barossa Valley and Clare Valley, with standout labels including L’Anima, Mighty Isle, Praeter, Agricola Vintners, Phase Three, Gertie and Bande Apart.

With two snacks included alongside tastings from all 11 producers, it’s the perfect introduction to the future of Australian wine.

With braised Murray cod, chestnut mushrooms, Adelaide Hills porcini, crispy fried polenta, and some truly exceptional mushroom butter all on the menu, it’s the kind of lunch that makes you want to cancel all afternoon plans.

One glass of Seppeltsfield wine is included, though lingering a little longer is highly encouraged.
