Temporary Gawler rail line closure for signalling works and software upgrades

Substitute buses will service all stops along the line between Adelaide and Gawler Central railway stations.

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport has released an update on the Gawler rail line, which will temporarily close on Sunday, 14 July, from the first service to the last service. This closure is necessary to allow for signalling works and software upgrades.

The planned works cannot be safely conducted while trains are operating in the rail corridor. By scheduling the closure on a Sunday, the aim is to minimise disruption to weekday commuters.

Substitute buses will service all stops along the line between Adelaide and Gawler Central railway stations. Commuters are advised to allow extra time for their journeys, as the bus service generally takes longer than the regular train service.
