Adelaide’s contemporary Thai dining hotspot Kiin is turning three, and they’re marking the milestone with a dazzling 1970s Thailand–inspired cocktail party that channels the glamour and intrigue of James Bond abroad.
On Thursday, 27 November 2025, guests are invited to Licence to Party, an all-inclusive celebration featuring free-flowing drinks, magnums of fizz, and ’70s-inspired cocktails, all paired with decadent canapés by Chef and Owner Ben Bertei.
“This is more than just a party,” says Bertei. “It’s our way of saying thank you to everyone who’s supported Kiin over the past three years. We’ve built something special here — a place that brings people together through food, culture, and creativity, and this night is about celebrating that.”
Guests are encouraged to dress to impress in their best retro Bond-inspired outfits, with prizes for the best dressed and DJ Nick Fahey spinning vinyl well into the night.
Tickets are $149 per person, including drinks, canapés, and entertainment. The celebration kicks off at 6:15 pm and runs late into the evening at Kiin, 73 Angas Street, Adelaide.
Since opening in 2022, Kiin (meaning “eat” in Thai) has become one of Adelaide’s most celebrated dining destinations, a lush urban escape where vibrant design meets bold, modern Thai flavours and warm, old-school hospitality.
Behind the venture are hospitality veterans Ben Bertei and David Wickwar, whose combined 50-plus years of global experience have shaped Kiin into a venue that balances creativity, quality and heart. Bertei’s career has taken him from Longrain under Martin Boetz to Spirit House, LONgTIME and SAMESAME in Brisbane, where he refined his signature modern-Asian style. Wickwar brings deep front-of-house expertise from years across Europe, Melbourne icons such as Café Di Stasio and Scusa Mi, and as co-founder of the award-winning Vaporetto Bar and Eatery.
