The 2010 NAB Barossa Gourmet Weekend

75547878After suffering through the past few months of the South Australian Winter, the 2010 NAB Barossa Gourmet Weekend promises to warm your senses on the 21st and 22nd August. This event will showcase the wine region and Barossa hospitality, showing off it’s world famous wine, food and entertainment in what is set to be an exciting weekend on the SA food and wine events calendar.

Most cellar door events will offer a number of different food and dining options as well as their wines by the bottle or glass, and live music or activities to keep you and your family entertained. A few wineries will also host degustation dinners in the evening, either in their winery restaurants or by teaming up with local restaurants.

The Artisans of Barossa is just one of the many events scheduled over the weekend, with 12 small winemakers coming together to present their 70 handcrafted wines at the Farm Function Centre on Samuel Road, Nuriootpa. On the Saturday you can enjoy tasting flights of wines matched with a grazing menu, or for a more extensive tasting make sure you book in for the shared table lunch with Artisans and selected wines on Sunday.

To help with driver safety Link SA will be providing shuttle busses from Adelaide to the Barossa, as well as regular services througout the region and between wineries over the weekend.

With the recent Federal Election called after the schedule for the 2010 NAB Barossa Gourmet Weekend had already been established, locals and visitors can go to both the Lyndoch and Angaston town halls to register their vote on August 21st.
