The ABC Gardeners’ Market returns to the ABC Collinswood studio car park this Saturday 11 April.
Join thousands of market goers as 891 ABC Adelaide’s Weekend presenter Ashley Walsh broadcasts Talkback Gardening live with gardening guru Jon Lamb from 8.30am, followed by popular on-air segments About the House with builder/carpenter Rose Squire and the Saturday Quiz. Talkback Gardening Extra with Jon Lamb also returns exclusively for market goers from 11am to midday, with live, helpful advice on the 891 stage.
Enjoy breakfast, brunch or lunch with plenty of food stalls and coffee available on site and live jazz music by the Australian Army Band’s Adelaide chapter between 12pm – 1pm.
ABC personalities and volunteers will run free tours of the ABC TV and radio studios from 9am to 11am, with market goers reminded to arrive early to secure their place.
Held twice a year, the ABC Gardeners’ Market has raised over $275,000 for South Australian charities since its inception over 20 years ago. All proceeds collected on April 11 will support the Legacy Club of Adelaide and their work with South Australian families of incapacitated and deceased veterans.
The market will also support the Sampson Flat Bushfire Recovery Centre’s efforts to restore the gardens of those affected by the recent fires. Those who wish to donate are encouraged to leave their plants at our car park collection point.
Gates to the ABC Collinswood studio car park at 85 North East Road open to the public at 8am and close at 1pm. Entry is by gold coin donation.
