And the Festival State continues to live up to its name, as the Adelaide Cabaret Festival makes an exciting announcement as it prepares to hit town in June.
Adelaide Festival Centre have announced that Ms. Lisa Fischer and Grand Baton will be performing three shows in the Dunstan Playhouse across the Festival.
Vocal powerhouse Lisa Fischer has sung with some of the greats, including The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan and Nine Inch Nails in stadiums around the world.
Now Lisa Fischer takes centre stage, revisiting iconic songs etched into her heart, and ours, including ‘Gimme Shelter’, ‘Wild Horses’, ‘It’s Only Rock and Roll’, ‘Fever’ and her Grammy-winning original ‘How Can I Ease The Pain’. She has ideal co-conspirators in Grand Baton, a virtuosic etho-funk prog-rock psychedelic soul trio that lays a rhythmic magic carpet under her feet.
Lisa says, “JC, Thierry, Aidan and I are so thankful to have the opportunity to come be in the music with you all in the great land of Oz. Our thanks to all of you who made this dream a reality!”
Lisa’s voice has been described as haunting, mesmerising and a finely tuned instrument, seamlessly blending genres from jazz, soul, gospel and rock with a vocal ability that can raise the roof of any venue.
