The Adelaide Thunderbirds Go Green and Meet the Cast of Wicked!

Last Wednesday night’s performance of WICKED was even more exciting than usual for young girls in the audience as the Adelaide Thunderbirds took a seat at The Festival Centre.

Throughout the auditorium, girls were craning their necks whispering “Is that… Oh My God, that’s Nat Von Bertouch, captain of Australia” and “Oh My God, they’re all here, look it’s the Thunderbirds!”

All except for two poor young fans who had to sit behind the team. The girls were spotted asking the ushers for booster cushions so they could see over the glamazon sports stars!

The T-Birds were enjoying a special night out with the club’s supporting members, which began with cocktails at the Atrium Bar of The Intercontinental Hotel followed by all the glitz and drama of Broadway smash, WICKED.

The girls were then lucky enough to meet the charming Lucy Durack who plays Glinda and David Harris who plays Fiero –  and lets just say some of the Thunderbirds and their guests were quite impressed by Fiero and his dashing ways!

The Thunderbirds are really enjoying the new membership structure at the club which allows them to spend more time with their members at special functions like this amazing night at WICKED.

Thunderbirds memberships for the 2012 season go on sale in September and you can register you interest here:

WICKED is finishing up the season in Adelaide and will move on to Perth while the Thunderbirds are keeping busy during the ANZ Championships off season. They will be playing in The Subway Cup Premiere League at ETSA Park on Friday nights.

Erin Bell, Sharni Layton and Natalie Von Bertouch are in preparation for Diamond duty representing the Australia at The World Championships in Singapore in July.
