Get ready, Adelaide! The tassels are coming out to play. The Australian Burlesque Festival is set to bring its glitter-soaked, show-stopping spectacle to The Star Theatres on October 30, as part of a nine-city national tour celebrating its 16th dazzling year.

This night at the theatre promises more than you’re average. There will be feathers, rhinestones, devilish humour, and a whole lot of wow.

Leading the lineup is Canadian powerhouse Zyra Lee Vanity, named one of the world’s top 50 burlesque performers, fusing classic tease with Afro-Caribbean heat. She’ll be joined by homegrown sensation Lyra LaBelle, Melbourne’s larger-than-life cabaret queen Tash York, and the festival’s co-founder and “Australia’s Classic Tease Queen” Dolores Daiquiri. Expect a mix of classic striptease, jaw-dropping neo-burlesque and unexpected twists.

Adelaide’s stop will also bring the festival’s signature workshops, from the sultry sway of Bump n’ Grind 101 to hip-hop-meets-burlesque in Traplesque. They’re open to all levels, whether you’re a curious first-timer or a seasoned performer.

Founded in 2009, the Australian Burlesque Festival has become a global fixture, renowned for celebrating diversity, creativity and fearless self-expression. Co-produced by industry icons Dolores Daiquiri and Cherry Velour under Cherry Daiquiri Productions, it’s the kind of event that keeps audiences talking long after the glitter’s been swept away.

So Adelaide, polish your pearls, fluff your feathers, and prepare for a night of glamour, grit and glorious tease because this October, the spotlight is all yours.
